The 13th edition of the Chennai Chess Open took place from 19-26 June at the Hotel Ambassador Pallava attracting more than 250 entries who fought for a total prize fund of Rs.1500000 (~18.000e).
GM Boris Savchenko and IM Nitin S. tied for the first place after 10 played rounds, scoring 8.5 points each. Having better tiebreak criteria, Savchenko claimed first place pocketing the money prize of Rs.300000 (~3.600e), and Nitin came second. GM Alexei Fedorov and IM Srihari L R scored 8 points each to tie for bronze, with tiebreaks favoring Fedorov who came third and Srihari finished on the fourth place. (Scroll down for final rankings)
