The 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 kicks off tomorrow in Chennai, India. More than 1700 players will take part in the event, with 248 grandmasters, 157 international masters, 54 women grandmasters, 99 women international masters, and many young chess talents in the field.

The youngest participant of the 2022 Chess Olympiad is 8-year-old Randa Seder who will compete for Palestine Women’s National team. Randa started playing chess when she was five years old and deserved her spot in Palestine’s Olympiad team after winning the silver medal in the Palestine Women’s Chess Championship. Besides the goal to play well for her team, Randa hopes to get a chance of meeting her idol – Judit Polgar.
