2022 Chennai Olympiad – Round 3

Kenya lost narrowly to 2.5-1.5 to South Korea in the Open section.
Martin Njoroge managed to win the game with some patient manoeuvring of his pieces. On the other hand, Githinji Hinga played well to build a superior position but seemed to have lost his nerve at the end. Nevertheless, he managed to extract a draw against IM Hongin Ahn.
In the Ladies section, Kenya lost 3-1 to Venezuela, with WCM Joyce Ndirangu winning her game.

After their humiliating loss to Zambia a day earlier, Denmark crushed Angola 4-0.
Namibia lost 3-1 to Kosovo while Israel crushed Zambia 4-0.
Armenia struggled to overcome Egypt 2.5-1.5 in their round three encounter.
Egyptian team captain Farag Amrou had to be rushed to the hospital while the match was going on to deal with a sudden increase in his blood pressure.
