The 37th edition of the European Chess Club Cup kicks off today in Mayrhofen, Austria, with participation of 87 teams (70 in the Open section and 17 in the women’s section). 600 players will defend the colors of their clubs, among them Magnus Carlsen, Viswanathan Anand, Richard Rapport, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.
The first round of the event brings interesting encounters, and the top seeded CSU ASE Superbet meets with Viking Chess Club. 15th World Chess Champion Vishy Anand will today play the first board for Romanian CSU ASE Superbet, having black pieces against GM Johann Hjartarson. Follow the game live:
