African Chess Confederation is excited to announce that eight federations within the continent will receive the FIDE Aid Package for open tournaments.
The Aid Package Program was launched in 2021 and its goal was to support open tournaments amidst the Covid-19 pandemic since then several federations have benefitted from the program.
The Cape Verde Open, Ethiopia’s Flintstone Open, of Madagascar, Mozambique Open, Mauritius’s RIM Open, the Malawi Open, Uganda Open and Minerva Zimbabwe Open are set to benefit from the program this year.
50 open tournaments have been selected to receive the Aid Package Program for 2023 which is valued at €200,000.
