The second edition of the Casablanca Chess Week, an event that showcases the game of chess through several events throughout the week concludes today Sunday 02 April 2023.
The initiative is aimed towards promoting the practice of the game of chess among all Casablancas, young and old allowing them to discover or rediscover the millennial facets and benefits.
Hungarian chess grandmaster Judit Polgar, Ambassador of Hungary to the Kingdom of Morocco His Excellency Miklos Tromler, the legendary international player GM Bachar Kouatly and former FIDE Vice President GM Hicham Hamdouchi attended the event which was running under the theme “A game of minds.”
A panellist which included Judit Polgar, Bachar Kouatly, Shameed Sait and Tarik Senhaji discussed “Insights on artificial intelligence from chess”. The topic was aimed towards understanding how a community can be heavily impacted by artificial intelligence at first (Deep Blue defeating the world champion in 1997) and how human chess has learned to adapt, use AI and ultimately thrive.
Another interesting discussion was titled “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” where Mrs Nezha Hayat was joined by inspiring women to exchange notes around the DigitALL: Innovation and Technology For Gender Equality.”
