African Chess Confederation

African Chess Confederation- Confédération Africaine des Echecs (ACC) The African Chess Confederation- Confédération Africaine des Echecs (ACC) formerly known as the Africa Chess Union is the governing board of African chess. ACC was formed in 1976 by African federations that took part in the Olympiad in October 1976 in Tripoli, Libya. The founding members are Tunisia and Algeria. Morocco, Kenya, Madagascar, Libya, Uganda, Mauritius, Mauritania, Gambia and Somalia. With a membership of 48 Member Associations. Belkadi Ridha of Tunisia presided over the African Chess Union since no statutes were in place. He was also appointed as the Vice President of FIDE. To date, the African Chess Confederation- Confédération Africaine des Echecs (ACC) has a membership of 48 Member Associations.
