The European School Chess Championship 2022 takes place from 20th-30th April in Rhodes, Greece. The event kicks off on Thursday, 21st of April, with the Opening ceremony which will be held shortly before the start of the first round. More than 190 players from more than 22 European federations registered for the event which will be played in 6 age categories: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17, open and girls sections separately.
The system of play will be Swiss system, 9 rounds, with time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1. The official Hotel and the venue of the event is the 5 stars “Rodos Palace” Hotel and Conference center.
