Indian MPL Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships 2022 were held from 27th to 30th April 2022 in Nashik, India.
The Rapid event was first on the schedule taking place 27-29 April with participation of 184 players. GM Chithambaram Aravindh successfully retained his National Rapid and Blitz titles after his triumph in both events in 2019. Aravindh scored an unbeaten 8.0/9 in the rapid championship and finished a half point ahead of the competition.
The MPL Blitz National Championship was played in the same venue on 30th April. After a loss in the 5th round, Aravindh stroke back and scored 5.5 out of 6 remaining games. With the final score of 9.5/11 points, Chithambaram clinched the blitz championship.
