Leading off the 2022 Grand Chess Tour will be the Superbet Chess Classic held from 3-15 May in Bucharest, Romania.
Following last year’s popular classical framework, the Grand Chess Tour Romania 2022 hosts ten players competing in a classical round-robin struggle for the $350,000 in prize money. The novelty is that the Grand Chess Tour events become part of the World Championship cycle.
Nine players to compete in the first 2022 Grand Chess Tour event are the full tour players, while the wild card went to the best-rated domestic player. Superbet Chess Classic participants list
Live games from the Superbet Chess Classic will be daily on Chessdom.com.
