The 2022 U.S. Chess Championship and the US Women’s Chess Championship 2022 open today in Saint Louis! The events will be concurrently held from 5-20 October in Saint Louis Chess Club, and the first round starts Wednesday, October 5 at 12:50 P.M. CDT.
14 of the strongest chess players in America will compete over the course of 13 rounds, including Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian, Wesley So and Hans Niemann who has been in the limelight for the last couple of weeks. See the complete list of participants here

The opening ceremony will be held today at the St. Louis Aquarium, with the Saint Louis Chess Club Executive Director Tony Rich as a host. The event will include induction ceremonies for the World & U.S. Chess Halls of Fame and starts at 18:15 CDT. Follow the opening ceremony live:
