IM Abdimalik Abdisalimov wins the 1st International Al-Beruniy Chess Tournament

The 1st International Al-Beruniy Chess Tournament took place from November 29 to December 3 in Khiva, Uzbekistan, simultaneously with the FIDE Women’s Candidates Pool B tournament. The event was played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for the whole game + 30 seconds increment for each move, starting from the move one, and the total prize fund of 50.000$.

After nine played rounds, IM Abdimalik Abdisalimov and GM Shamsiddin Vokhidov tied for the top with 7 points, each. Thanks to the better tiebreak criteria, Abdisalimov clinched gold and Vokhidov came second. IM Mukhiddin Madaminov came third scoring 6 points. Scroll down for the final rankings
