The Chess Kenya Federation has announced details of the Kenya team to the FIDE OLYMPIAD for People with Disabilities.
Daphne Mwikali, the Head of the Special Needs Committee and the federation agreed to support and reward those who performed well in National Championship PWD and were most active in the Kenya National League.
Clement Miheso – Reigning Kenya National Champion PWD and played 12 games in the Kenya National League.
Sadam Ali – Runners Up Kenya National Champion PWD and played 13 games
Wambalo Wong – 4th in Kenya National Champion PWD and has played 13 games in the Kenya National League.
Mary Nduku – the 2019 Kenya National Ladies Champion PWD in 2019 and Runners Up in the 2022 edition.
Harrison Nyaga – Captain.
Ednah Odhiambo – Accompanying Person.
The event takes place in Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia, from the 29th of January to the 6th of February, 2023.
Fifty-five participants from 13 federations have confirmed their entry. Zambia and Zimbabwe are the other African federations taking part.
