- Kevin George becomes the youngest player in Africa and Arab to obtain the IM title and is one of the 12 youngest players in the world to obtain this title.
14-year-old Kevin George of Egypt has been awarded the FIDE International Master title becoming the youngest player in Egypt, Africa and the Arabs to obtain this rank at the international level.
Kevin has won the African Junior Championship four times in the under 10, twice in the under 16 and once in the under 18 amongst other several chess competitions.
The International Master IM title is the second highest title behind the Grandmaster title. And is awarded to strong players who attained a rating of at least 2400 in classical chess at some point. In addition, the player must obtain 3 IM norms.
