Deputy Chair of FIDE, Dana Reizniece-ozola and the African Chess Confederation President, Ms Tshepiso Lopang, have challenged both girls and women to participate in chess.
The duo said this yesterday during a courtesy call to the leadership of the Botswana Chess Federation as they familiarize themselves with the Federation’s women in chess development program.
“GRAB THE OPPORTUNITY”
Reizniece-ozola and Lopang shared the opportunities that FIDE have to offer as they celebrate its centenary anniversary, urging everyone to grab the available opportunities.
They played simultaneous games with young girls who had been assembled from various schools. Parents of chess players also had the opportunity to mix, mingle, and share their views and suggestions with the leadership. Today, the crew will visit the Botswana National Sports Council and some officials from the Ministry of Sport.
