The 2025 African Amateur Individual Chess Championships (AAICC) will be held at Hotel Source du Nil in Bujumbura, Burundi, from 17-25 August, 2025.
The 2025 AAICC are open to all players representing federations, which are affiliated to the International Chess Federation (FIDE), which comprise the African Chess Confederation (ACC), who have a published FIDE rating below 2300 for at least one year as at January 1, 2025.
There will be separate Championships for FIDE rating categories Under-2300, Under-2000 & Under-1700. There shall be separate Women’s Championship(s) if there are at least ten players from at least three (3) federations in each category. Otherwise Women players will play in Open competition and, in this case of a merged tournament, Women players will be eligible to win prizes from both categories.
