The African Chess Confederation is represented by four affiliates at the ongoing 2025 FIDE World Junior Chess Championship in Petrovac, Montenegro.
Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, and Tunisia have all sent participants to compete in the prestigious Junior Chess Championship, which commenced on Tuesday, 25 February 2025.
Nearly 230 players, representing 44 countries, are participating in the event, with 157 players, including 12 GMs from 63 countries, in the open section.
IM Hamed Wafa, FM David George, Ben Ayed Iskandar, and Hawi Kaloki are competing in the open section, while WCM Chahrazed Djerroud, WIM Joy Romany, and Zuri Kaloki will aim for honors in the girls’ section.
